Selima’s Wedding

Selima contacted and booked me without a trial early this year for herself and bridal party. We did plan to meet for a consultation session but she later changed her mind, she trusted me based on my body of work and recommendations.

It was a pleasure working with Selima, she has such a beautiful and calming nature!

Arrived on the day at her prep location in Canary Wharf, London with a member from my beauty team who worked on the bridesmaids while I concentrated on the bride.

Starting Selima’s makeup, I began by cleansing her skin using Bioderma Sensibio and hydrating using Embryolisse Lait creme concentre. Selima had a few dry patches around her face so I concentrated the moisturiser on those areas.

Her brows were filled in using MAC brow pencil in Spiked and combed though with a clear brow gel to keep the hair in place.

Using MAC paint pot in Soft ochre I applied this all over the lids, this makes the eyeshadow colour pop! Selima has absolutely beautiful eyes which I decided to make the centre of attention. A lot of eyeshadows were used to create this look and involved a lot of mixing to get a particular hue. Using all MAC eyeshadows – Mythology, All that glitters, Woodwinked, shadowy lady, swiss chocolate, embark and Carbon. Lined the eyes using Ingot gel liner in 77 with an extended wing.

Selima did not want lashes and I did convince her to trust me on using wispy lashes to add a bit of omph to her eyes. Her eyes looked sensational after these were added on. Lashes used – Ardell 120.

Her face was prepped using YSL touche Eclat blur primer and Lancome Teint Idole Foundation in 14 was buffed into her skin. I highlighted under her eyes using Kevyn Aucoin sensual skin enhancer in 14 which was set using RCMA no colour powder.

I added definition to her face using Anastasia beverly hills contour powder in Expresso and added shimmer highlight using Becca shimmering skin perfector in Topaz. Blush used was MAC blush in Ambering rose.

To finish off the look, I lined her lips using MAC lip pencil in Chestnut and filled in using MAC lipstick in Peachstock.

Selima looked so stunning!

Received this touching message from the bride –

Good morning Joy, Firstly you need to know that you and your team are the best. This makeup was flawless/beautiful/on point. I got so many compliments.

Secondly, from the moment I booked you have been so supportive and encouraging. So considerate and ensuring I was ok with every single step.

Thirdly, you went above and beyond and stayed to help, guide and advised on what should be done when I was so overwhelmed.

I’ll end this by saying may the good lord continue to bless and prosper you. You’re amazing.

Thank you for yesterday and for your support during the week. Xx

A pleasure Selima 🙂 Wishing you a blessed married life x.
