Rahwa’s Wedding

Rahwa’s Wedding was a 2015 booking without a trial.

As mentioned in a previous post on my luck this year with having amazing brides, Rahwa was an epitome of all things I pray my bridal Clients to be and more! She had a clear vision of what she wanted and trusted me to deliver.

Arrived on the day with a member of my beauty team to work on bride and her 3 bridesmaids.

I worked on just one bridesmaid, her beautiful sister who was a pleasure to work with.

Key products used on her were Blackopal foundation, MAC eyeshadow in All that Glitters and MAC lipstick in Halfnhalf topped with MAC lipglass in Nymphette.

Isn’t she just stunning!

Moving on to Rahwa, after her hair was prepped by the hairstylist – Deborah Lola, I started work.

Her skin is Normal to slightly dry. After cleansing and a quick spray of MAC fix+, I massaged in my faithful Embryolisse Lait creme concentre and allowed it sink into her skin while I worked on her eyes.

Rahwa already had beautiful shaped brows so I filled in only the gaps using Anastasia brow definer in Dark brown and set this with a clear brow gel to keep the hair in place.

Makeup brief was a softly smoked out eye, however she wanted to change her mind after seeing the work I did on her sister which absolutely loved. She now wanted the same! I did manage to convince her to remain with the brief. As the bride your makeup has to be different.

I primed the eyelids with MAC paintpot in Constructivist and patted on MAC eyeshadow in Twinks all over the lid, this was softly blended out using MAC eyeshadows in Texture and Swiss chocolate. Depth was added with MAC eyeshadow in Shadowy lady. Eye look was completed with Ingot gel liner in 77 and some lashes.

Moving on to foundation, I primed the skin with Yves Saint Laurent touche éclat blur perfector and buffed in Black opal foundation in Beautiful Bronze. Under her eyes was brightened using Kevyn Aucoin Sensual skin enhancer in 12 and set with Laura Mercier secret brightening powder in 02. The rest of the face was set with MAC mineralize skin finish in I believe Medium Tan…

Her cheekbones were enhanced by gently contouring her face using MAC mineralize skin finish in Dark deepest and highlighted using a mix of MAC highlighter in Oh darling and Becca shimmering skin perfector in Opal. Blush used was MAC blush in Peachtwist.

Her lips were gently lined with MAC lip pencil in Whirl and filled in with a customised shade to suit her request and skin tone.

My images of Rahwa in her stunning dress didn’t come out clear but a video can be viewed “here”

Received this from the bride the very next day – “Hiiii Joy, A big thank you to you and assistant for your amazing work you did on me and my bridesmaids. I did not expect to look sooooo beautiful. You are amazing Joy. Hopefully you will do wonders to my face again 🙂 P.s Makeup lasted all night. Rahwa”

A pleasure Rahwa, wishing you a beautiful married life!
