Basi’s Wedding

I was contacted regarding Basi’s Wedding by her Wedding planner – Roe Weddings. She initially wanted a trial but based off my body of work she booked my services without needing one.

We communicated via Whatsapp regarding the look she wanted. Basi wanted a glamorous look which included the use of glitter. I was quite excited about this. I have not used glitter on a bride in such a long time as most of the brides I work with prefer a much natural look.

On her wedding day I arrived at the wedding location – Hylands House, Chelmsford. I began work as soon as the hairstylist – Deborah Lola had finished initial hair prep.

Basi’s skin was on the combination side but she was worried about sweating due to the warm weather. I started by cleansing her skin using Garnier micellar water, I skipped moisturiser but used MAC fix + spray to hydrate her skin and went over it with a dense brush to make sure it sinks into the skin.

On her brows I used a mix of MAC brow pencils in spiked and stud followed by MAC brow gel in show off to keep the brow hair in place and also lift the colour of the brow pencils so its not too dark against her skin.

Now to the fun part, the eyes! To make sure the eyeshadow pops I switched my eyeshadow base from MAC laying low to MAC soft ochre. I used mostly shades from the Lorac pro eyeshadow palette, Violet Voss holy grail palette and The balm Meet Matte Trimony. I can’t say the exact shades as I kept switching in between. Before adding glitter I used Ben nye glitter glue on the area I wanted the glitter before patting on MAC glitter in Gold. This was finished off with Ingot gel liner in 77 and some mink lashes.

Moving on to the rest of the face, I prepped her face using Becca ever matte poreless primer and La girl pro conceal in orange for pigmentation correction.

Foundation used – Lancome Teint Idole Ultra in 13, 14 and 15.  To highlight under the eyes I used Kevyn Aucoin The etherealist super natural concealer in 9 which was set with Laura mercier loose powder in medium deep. The rest of the face was set with MAC studio fix powder in NW50 and 55.

For contour I used MAC eyeshadow in Embark followed by Becca shimmering skin perfector in Topaz and bobbi brown bronze glow. Blush used was MAC ambering rose.

On her lips I defined around the edges using MAC lipliner in chestnut, I then filled in with a mix of MAC lipstick in Half n half and Taupe finished off with MAC lipgloss in dreamy. Really loved how the makeup turned out!

Such a pity I couldn’t stay back to capture Basi in her dress 🙁

Thank you for trusting me with this booking, God bless.
