My Zimbabwean Bride- Doreen contacted me mid year 2014 regarding her wedding. Because of her location which was outside London a trial was not possible but she did trust me to fulfil her makeup brief.
Due to the start time of her wedding and her bridal party number the only option was the travel down to Bognor Regis, West Sussex a day before the wedding where I was booked into the hotel she was residing.
On the day my start time was 5am! This has to be the earliest time I have ever done. Nevertheless, I arrived at her room at the designated time, set up, made a strong cup of coffee which drove any sleep away and began work.
I began with her 4 bridesmaids and her mum then started on the bride.
Doreen had some pigmentation on her face which I easily cancelled out using a bit of corrector.
She had indicated she wanted golds on her eyes so I played around with MAC cosmetics eyeshadows in Woodwinked, Amberlight, Swiss chocolate and Carbon.
Foundation used was MAC matchmaster foundation and I concealed any blemishes including highlight under her eyes with a mix of La Girl pro hd concealer and MAC pro long wear concealer. This was set with Ben nye powder in a mix of Banana and Topaz.
Her Blush was a mix of MAC Dollymix and Ambering Rose. I also added Bobbi brown bronze glow for added sheen on the high points of her face.
I finished off by Lining her lips with a deep dark brown lip pencil and a mix of pale brown and pink lipsticks to create a nude ombre effect on her.
Really love the overall effect especially after her hair was finished off by Trueglambeauty.
Just look at her gown! Absolutely stunning!
With her bridesmaids, I basically did the steps on the bride but on the eyes I used mostly Mac eyeshadows in Woodwinked and Firespot.
Their blush was only MAC dollymix and on the lips a mix of coral and pink shade to compliment their stunning Coral dresses.
As much as it was the earliest start I’ve ever done, the atmosphere was very positive and they were all lovely to me.
