Marcy Dolapo Oni Sijuwade

I know this a bridal blog but I worked with Media Personality – Marcy Dolapo Oni Sijuwade recently. Her images went a bit viral all over social media, I got so many requests from my bridal clients about recreating her look for their wedding day.

Decided on a blog post to narrate step-by-step how I created the look.

Marcy was attending the Triforce Short Film Festival in London and contacted me to glam her up for the event.

I met her up at her residence, set up and began work. The brief was smokey eye with a hint of burgundy to compliment the hair accessory she would be wearing.

Starting her makeup, I began by cleansing her skin using Bioderma Micelle solution and spraying her face with MAC fix +. Her lips were prepped with Creme de la Mer lip balm.

Her brows were filled in using MAC brow pencil in spiked and MAC eyeshadow in Swiss chocolate.

One her eyes, I started with MAC paint pot in Constructivist, this also served as my base colour. I then applied MAC eyeshadow in Coppering in the inner lid, Embark at the outer lid and swiss chocolate to blend out the edges. She wanted it more smokey so I further added Espresso from the Lorac Pro palette across the lid and Black from the same palette to deepen the crease.

Eyelid and waterline was lined using Ingot gel liner in 77. The eyes were finished off using Ardell Lashes in 120 and Makeup forever smoky lash mascara to blend her lashes to the strip lashes.

I then moved on to the skin which I primed using Smashbox foundation primer. Foundation used was Lancome Teint Idole Ultra 24h in 10 with a bit of 6. Dolapo has beautiful skin so I didn’t need to use much on her. Under eye concealer used was Kevyn Aucoin Sensual skin enhancer in 12 which was applied using a damp beauty blender sponge. This was set using MAC studio fix powder in Nc40.

Using a large fluffy brush, I then set the rest of the face ‘very lightly’ with MAC studio fix powder in a mix of Nc45 and Nc50 and then using a small tapered brush I patted on MAC blot powder in Dark to just her t-zones.

To contour I used MAC studio fix powder in NW50 and to highlight I used Becca Highlight powder in both Opal and Topaz. Blush used was NARS Orgasm.

The whole look was completed by lining the lips with MAC lip liner in Chestnut and then Filled in using MAC lipstick in Half n Half. No gloss was used. The nude lip shade complimented the smokey eye and the shimmering peach blush added warmth and sheen to her face.
