I first met Laxmin at a wedding booking in Italy last year, she was one of the bridesmaids. Ironically, she already knew me as I had worked on her sister early that year on another wedding. Its amazing how the phrase “word of mouth” actually works in the bridal industry.
She hinted she might be using my services for her own wedding and did contact me early this year to make the booking without a trial for herself, 6 bridesmaids and mother-in-law. We did meet closer to the wedding date to finalise her bridal look.
On the wedding day, I arrived at her prep location, quickly checked on 2 members from my beauty team who had arrived earlier to work on the 7 members of her bridal party. After checking things were going on schedule with my team, I went to set up for my session.
I started with the chief bridesmaids makeup before moving on to the bride’s makeup.
I began with a quick spray of MAC fix plus spray for instant hydration before grooming her brows. Her skin is on the oily side so I skipped moisturiser.
Brows were filled in using Anastasia Beverly hills brow definer in Dark brown and combed through with a clear brow gel.
Her eyelids were primed using MAC paint pot in Soft ochre, this makes the eyeshadow colour pop and gives it longevity. Main eyeshadow used was MAC eyeshadow in Amberlight, this was paired with swiss chocolate and embark. I added depth to the eye look using MAC eye shadow in Carbon. Finished the look with a black eyeliner and Ardell Lashes in 120.
Moving on the skin, Laxmin is Indian/Malawian and has a beautiful skin that appears to have a yellow undertone but she actually has a red undertone. I prepped her skin using Becca ever matte poreless primer and spot corrected her blemishes with an orange corrector.
Foundation used was Black opal stick foundation in Hazelnut. When I used this at her trial, I couldn’t believe it would match her perfectly but it did! Under her eyes, forehead, chin and bridge of the nose, I highlighted using MAC prolong wear concealer in NW40. This was set using Laura Mercier loose powder in translucent. I also used this to set the rest of her face.
I defined the outer perimeters of her face using MAC mineralise skin finish in Dark deepest and added shimmer highlight – Becca shimmering skin perfector in Topaz. Laxmin didnt want a lot of blush so I ever so slightly applied MAC blush in Dolly pink to the highest point of her cheeks and blended out.
Finishing off on the lips, I first outlined the lips using Cork lipliner by MAC. I then filled in using MAC lipstick in Please me mixed in with a little flat out fabulous lipstick to give the pink a purple undertone. This was topped with MAC lipgloss in Nymphette – a beautiful golden shimmered champagne pink gloss. This just gave the lips that va va voom effect.
Can we take a minute to admire Laxmin’s gorgeous dress! Love! I had packed up my camera at this point but could not resist taking more pictures below with my phone.
