Ijay’s Wedding

Ijay’s Wedding was a Referral from Hairstylist – Dionne Smith.

Due to the wedding timescale and location, a Trial was not possible but Ijay booked me based on the referral and my body of work.

I was booked for 2 days – The pre-wedding party being held on a cruise boat and her main wedding day at The Dorchester, London.

Day one, Dionne and I arrived together at The Dorchester to glam her up for the Gatsby themed party. Her dress was a beautiful handmade Lilac/Purple beaded dress with a pearl headpiece.

For makeup I chose Purple smokey eyes paired with nude pink lips. This completed the gorgeous dress she had on.

On the main day I arrived at The Dorchester and immediately set up after briefly checking on the bridesmaids. I had arranged for my makeup colleagues to begin work on all 12 of them earlier on.

Her skin was primed with Smashbox photofinish primer and lips primed with Creme de la mar lip balm. Using a damp beauty blender sponge, I applied Lancome Teint Idole Ultra 24hr foundation in No 10 and MAC pro long wear concealer in NC42 under her eyes and high points of the face. The concealer was set with Sasha loose powder in Buttercup and the rest of the face with MAC blot powder in Dark and Mineralise skin finish in dark as well at the outer perimeters of the face.

I contoured using MAC studio fix powder in NW50 and highlighted with Becca highlight powder in Opal. Blush used was a mix of MAC Ambering rose and Breezy.

On her eyes I used mostly my LORAC pro palette in a mix of shades. This was finished with Lining the eyes using inglot gel liner in 77 and strip lashes from Ardell (120)

Her lips were lined with a mix of MAC Vino and Whirl. I mixed some shades from my custom made lip palette to give a nude pink look but after she wore her dress we decided to add more colour to the lips by adding MAC lipstick in Pink Nouveau.
