Assumpta’s Wedding

My lovely bride Assumpta booked my services just a week after she got engaged without trial. We later had a consultation 2 days before her wedding to finalise on the look. She wanted a very classic and soft bridal look.

On the day I arrived at her prep location – Ditton Park. The hairstylist Enitan was just finishing prep when I arrived.

Assumpta has normal skin which goes dry very quickly, so I took my time with prepping the skin. Skin was thoroughly cleansed with Lancome eau micellaire douceur and hydrated using Embryolisse lait cream. While I let that sink into the skin I began with the eyes.

I filled in the brows using MAC brow pencil in spiked and brow gel in show off. On the eyelids, I started with MAC paint pot in Nubile to aid longevity of the eyeshadows before creating a natural hue on the eyes. Main eyeshadows used was MAC eyeshadows in Woodwinked and bronze then the Lorac pro eyeshadow palette – Pewter shade.  This was finished off with strip mink lashes and Ingot gel liner in 77.

On the face I applied another layer of Embryolisse lait cream to the outer perimeters of her face and Hylamide Matte 12 to the inner perimeters (Tzones).

Foundation used was NARS all day luminous foundation in a mix of Macao and Cadiz. NARS creamy concealer in Caramel was then used under the eyes to brighten and then set sparingly with Laura mercier loose setting powder in translucent. To contour I used Bobbi brown stick foundation in Chestnut and Blush used was actually a lipstick. It was from my depotted lipstick palette, I can’t remember the exact shade unfortunately 🙁

For dryer skin types I prefer to work with creams than powders.

To set the rest of the face I used a large powder brush and a tiny amount of translucent powder. I then highlighted with Becca shimmering skin perfector in a mix of Opal and Topaz. Normally I would use Topaz on its own but the shade is quite golden and warm. This would clash with the eye look. The opal shade added a balance to the highlight shade.

On her lips I used a combination of chestnut and cork to line the lips before filling in with MAC lipstick in half n half and topped with a clear lip gloss.

Assumpta looked so stunning! She was all smiles all day!
