So this happened! I was awarded Bridal Makeup Artist Of The Year – 2017 at the UK African Wedding Awards 2017 ceremony held last week.
It started a few weeks ago when the organisation invited the public to nominate their favourite makeup artists. I was stunned at how many of my brides sent me messages on how they had nominated me.
The votes were counted and I made it to the finale. At this stage there was a judging panel who take time to rigorously examine our work, ethics and actually read referrals from brides. I am most grateful to all my brides who take time to write me beautiful testimonials 🙂 This was also taken into consideration.

The awards was held on the 5th of October and was a spectacular event attended by big names in the wedding industry.
Unfortunately I was not available to attend the event as I was in Italy on a destination wedding booking. My younger sister – Esther attended the event on my behalf and thanks to snap chat, followed the event as it went along.
I think I went off service briefly but noticed my phone going bonkers when I got my network back. The news had broken out that I had won! Like wow!!!! Really wish I was there to pick up my award in person but my sister did an amazing job of representing me.

I dedicate this award firstly to God who gave me this talent and has continued blessing my career, I also thank my family particularly my husband who has been an incredible support.
Finally I dedicate this award to everyone who nominated me. I wouldn’t have won if my name was not put forward in the first place.
