Edo Bride Inspired

I do enjoy planning personal shoots in my spare time. This is done to primarily try out new products and techniques. I do this when my diary frees up a bit after wedding season. This particular shoot has to be my favourite this year as its something I’ve never done before.

It was actually the model’s idea to be honest. I did a bit of research and immediately discovered it is not just about the makeup. The costume and hair also play a huge role on the final look.  A big thanks to Bespokiet  for the stunning accessories and Prestige Flair for the amazing hair. They brought the vision to life.

The look began with my usual cleansing and hydrating routine.

The brows were filled in using Anastasia Beverly Hills brow definer in Dark brown and combed through using MAC brow gel in showoff. On her eyelids I had massive fun playing with different shades of orange! Main colours used were from The Juvia’s Place Masquerade eyeshadow palette and Sugar pill’s eyeshadow in pumpkin spice. This was finished off with mink lashes for drama.

Foundation used was by Aj crimson, this was followed by highlighting under her eyes using NARS creamy concealer in a mix of Amande and Caramel. This was set using Laura Mercier Loose setting powder in translucent and medium deep.

I added definition to her face by contouring using OPV cream contour palette and highlighted using Makeup addiction cosmetics holy glow vol 2 highlighting palette.

With the eyes so dramatic, I couldn’t decide on a lip colour – Nude or Brights. I started with MAC lipstick in Who’s that Chick from the Rihanna collection then switched to MAC’s lipstick in Lady danger.

With the amount of nude shades I use on weddings, it was a wonderful pleasure working with bright colours!

Let me know what you think of the look, nude lips or bright lips? 🙂
