I was booked for my bride – Satta CEO of Satta Matturi Fine Jewellery via her Wedding Planner – Rugie CEO of Mrs Wedding planner.
Now to the fun part, I never had any form of consultation with the bride. Instead I was informed the bride had a stylist who is putting her look together – Both Makeup and hair. In my 7 years as a makeup artist I have never worked with a bridal stylist, Ever! I did feel strangely about it because I didn’t know what to expect. Will he be glaring at me if I used a wrong lipstick or be whipped if I used the wrong eye eyeshadow??
The day arrived and I made my way to her location – The Lanesborough.
I met my bride finally and she was so lovely!! One of the most elegant women I’ve ever met.
While the hairstylist – Deborah Lola finished on her hair, I laid out my set up and was treated to an amazing breakfast by the personal butler assigned to the room ( I felt so posh!).
The stylist – Dennis arrived about that time and all doubts went out of the window.
He was beside me giving guidance on product preference…
Her skin was prepped and moisturised. Eyebrows were filled in using Anastasia beverley hills brow definer in Dark brown. I kept the natural shape of the brows.
Eyeshadow preference – All that glitters eyeshadow from MAC this was blended out with MAC swiss chocolate and a just a hint of embarked at the crease for subtle definition.
The eye look was finished off with a dark brown eyeshadow used as liner instead of a normal black eyeliner. Lashes were gently coated with mascara and a dark brown eyeshadow applied just under the lower lid.
To prep the skin – Becca Ever Matte primer and foundation used with a damp beauty blender sponge – Lancome Teint Idole ultra 24hr. To conceal and highlight under the eyes I used NARS creamy concealer which was set with Laura Mercier Loose setting powder in translucent. The rest of the face was set using a MAC studio fix powder with a large brush.
My favourite part was the highlighter, I already knew she was wearing one of her pieces – The Lace Fan Earring from The Artful Indulgence collection and I wanted to use a shade that will compliment the piece. I finally used Tom ford Highlighting palette in Moonlight. This just made the earring illuminate! MAC blush in Dollymix was used sparingly to add colour to her cheeks.
On her lips I lined the edges using MAC lipliner in a mix of chestnut and currant and filled in with MAC lipstick in Lovelorn, finishing with MAC lipgloss in Nymphette.
Satta was a vision in her Alice Temperley dress and Jimmy choo shoes! All put together by her stylist.
I can’t even take full credit on the entire makeup look as Dennis played a paramount role in colour selection. His attention to detail is phenomenal.
It was a rare experience and pleasure to work with such talented group of people.
Thank you so much Satta for the booking, wishing you all the best with your marriage 🙂
