My Sierra Leonean Bride
I was contacted by Ngozie some months ago and we met up for her consultation session. She is from a Sierra Leonean/Nigerian Background, getting married to her groom from Finland.
At her consultation, she indicated her preference for nude hues of bronze and soft browns with a red lippy for the reception ceremony.
Can I just say that my bride Ngozie has to be the most organised bride I’ve ever worked with! Everything was so meticulous with so much attention to detail and the timings were on point.
On the day I arrived with my assistant – Nicole who attended to her bridal party and mum leaving me to focus on the bride.
I started as usual by thoroughly cleansing her face and priming. Her brows were groomed and filled in. On her eyes, using my Lorac pro eyeshadow palette, I gave a simple play on nude shades. She had some individual lashes pre-installed, so I only emphasised them with my Dior show black Mascara.
Foundation used was MAC matchmaster in shades 8.5 and 9. This was set with MAC’s blot powder and mineralised skin finish in deep dark.
On her cheeks was a subtly dust of NARS blush in Taj mahal. I finished off on the lips by lining with a dark brown lip liner and Anastasia Beverly hills liquid lipstick in Pure Hollywood. We wanted to keep it matte but later changed our minds and added a clear gloss just to the middle of the lips.
Absolutely loved her dress! I never get tired of seeing the amazing dress designs by my Bridal clients.
For her reception look we went against what we chose during the trial which would have been red lips. We opted to softly smoke out her eyes and pair with peachy lips.
I added more blush – NARS Taj Mahal and using a fluffy brush, applied a variety of highlighters to the highest points of her face which gave her a beautiful and radiant glow.
A huge thanks to Ngozie for booking my services on her special day. Wishing you all the best in your married life x
