Tolu’s Wedding

Apologies for the lack of posts, my diary this year has been really crazy! Trying to make out time for a writeup has been a challenge 🙁

My lovely Tolu was a 2016 booking without a trial. We did arrange one several weeks ago to narrow down her looks.

On the wedding day, I made my way to The Grange Hotel at St Paul’s. Hairstylist – Charis hair was finishing up when I arrived so I quickly did my set and began her makeup.

Her face was cleaned and well hydrated. When I met her during the trial her skin had a lot of issues but I’m so glad she took my advice to start a regimented skin regime. This helped her so much as her skin looked so beautiful and was easy to work with.

Her brows were filled in with MAC brow pencil in spiked and brushed through with MAC brow set gel in Beguile. I added a bit of swiss chocolate to lighten the brows as they looked too dark.

MAC paint pot in laying low was applied all over the lid for eyeshadow longevity. Colours used were mostly MAC – Woodwinked, Amberlights, Swiss chocolate, Carbon, handwritten and All that glitters. This was finished off with Inglot gel liner in 77 on both top lid and waterline. Lashes used was Ardell 120 which gave some oomph to the look.

For prep Smashbox photo finish primer was applied all over the face. Foundation used was Lancome Teint idole ultra 14hrs in shade 13.1 and concealer used was Nars creamy concealer in a mix of cafe and amande. This was set with RCMA no colour loose powder. The rest of the face was set with MAC blot powder in deep dark followed by MAC mineralise skin finish in dark deepest.

A mix of MAC blushes in Devil and ambering rose was swept all over her cheeks with highlight added using Bobbi brown shimmer brick in bronze. Her face was softly contoured using Cover girl ebony bronzer.

During the trial she wanted a pink shade used but she changed her mind asking for a nude brown shade.

NYX slim pencil in Dark brown was used to outline the edges of the lips followed by MAC lipstick in Peachstock applied over it and blended in. A light touch of Bobbi brown clear gloss was added to just the middle of the lips and blended out.
