Destination Wedding – Ravello, Italy
It was lovely to be contacted by my childhood friend & name sake – Joy and booked for her special day with a location in a little village in Italy called – Ravello.
A long story with trying to organise a trial with Joy as she’s always busy with her job in Brussels. It was impossible to schedule a trial but she trusted me to do my magic on her on the day.
Arrived in Naples, Italy a day to the wedding, was met by her pre booked Chauffeur and taken to our hotel in the breathtaking village of Ravello. Even before checking in and with my luggage, I was snapping away with my phone the gorgeous landscapes surrounding the hotel. I did think she was bonkers for choosing this location but my views changed as soon as I arrived.
Later that evening, we did meet up for a quick trial to get her vision on the sort of look she wanted for the big day.
On the day I arrived at her hotel and immediately set up at her mum’s room to begin makeup on 3 bridesmaids and her mum. When done, I moved to her room to set up and begin work on her.
Joy wanted a very clean, natural with a glow look with soft peach lips. I used a stippling brush to apply her foundation – MAC studio fix fluid in NC45 & 50. This was buffed in to prevent the foundation sitting on her skin. Using my fingers, I concealed any blemish or pigmentation on her face and this was set by swirling a big fluffy brush over her face using MAC Studio fix powder in NC45 under her eyes and NC50 at the outer perimeters of her face.
On her lids was MAC Woodwinked eyeshadow applied with a fluffy brush to avoid too much colour on the lid. This was gently blended out using MAC eyeshadow in Embarked.
Her face was lightly contoured using MAC Studio fix powder in NW50 and heavily highlighted using Becca highlight powder in Topaz. She didnt want any blush.
On her lips was a mix of peach and pink lip shades customised to suit her required shade. No gloss was used.
Finally her brows which are naturally thick and defined was groomed using MAC brow pencil in spiked to fill in any spaces and a clear brow gel to tame any fly-away hair.
It was a beautiful romantic wedding. I was almost in tears when he made a speech to her standing by his side. A lot of thought went into the planning and the sit down menu was simply delicious! I had 2 helpings of the desert 😉
